Lindsay Lane Baptist Church is a family of believers in Jesus Christ who desire to live for the glory of God. We seek to do this through knowing, living, and sharing Christ.
Knowing —
“And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent” (John 17:3, NKJV). The Christian’s life must be informed and guided by the Scriptures and the Holy Spirit or we can easily fall into gross error following our own promptings or the deception of false teachers who prey upon the Church. Healthy doctrine, drawn solely from the Word of God, makes for a healthy church. The Apostle John wrote, “Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments” (1 John 2:3).
Living —
“Therefore let us pursue the things which make for peace and the things by which one may edify another” (Romans 14:19, NKJV). The Bible calls on Christians to be actively engaged in growing and maturing. Sanctification is a progressive out-working of the grace that is in every believer, and is a lifelong endeavor. Living the Christian life is made possible through the Word, the Spirit of God, and as believers kindly care for one another. Every aspect of the Christian’s life is to be done to the glory of God (Colossians 3:17).
Sharing —
“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” (Matthew 28:19, NKJV). God wants all men to be saved and come to a knowledge of the truth (1 Timothy 2:4). Our Lord expects the message of His death and resurrection as payment for our sins to be proclaimed. Therefore, it is the duty of Christians to readily share the glories of God’s love and the life-transforming power of the Gospel to a lost and dying world, so that men and women everywhere will repent of their sins, believe in the finished work of Jesus Christ, and grow in a personal relationship with Him.
